TRUE NORTH
Being a parent comes with a responsibility that’s difficult to fully understand until you’re living it.
As a father of five, I’ve learned that there are sacrifices, long days, missed moments, difficult decisions, and plenty of times when you question whether you’re getting things right.
I was fortunate to have parents who never stopped showing up for me. As I’ve gotten older and raised children of my own, I’ve developed a much deeper appreciation for everything they did.
That’s what inspired the TRUE NORTH coins.
The front features DAD or MOM, surrounded by the words "THE WEIGHT IS WORTH IT".
On the reverse is a compass rose, accompanied by "KEEP SHOWING UP. EVERY SINGLE DAY."
I chose the compass because it represents something I think every parent can relate to. We’re trying to guide our children in the right direction, even when we’re still trying to find our own way.
True north represents that direction. The values we try to live by, the lessons we hope to pass along, and the commitment to keep doing what’s right, even when we occasionally lose our way.
These coins aren’t about being a perfect parent. They’re about recognizing the responsibility we carry, learning from our mistakes, and continuing to show up for the people who depend on us.
Each DEEPLY engraved coin will be made to order, with the brass conditioned, blackened, and then hand-rubbed to achieve an antique/distressed finish. Hoppe's #9 is applied to help richen/preserve the finish.
