"This Too Shall Pass" Challenge Coin

  With all that's going on in the world today, and especially recently with the catastrophic weather and damage that many States in the US have been dealt, I caught myself thinking and worrying about what may come, how long would the effects be felt, etc... At some point between it all, I thought about all that not only I've been through, but others; and I thought about how strong we come back from anything. Life is full of hurdles, some bigger than others, but the feeling and mindset when we get over them is unlike any other. 

  With all of that on my mind, I created this Coin, knowing that it would mean something to someone along the way, and probably more than once in their lifetime.

  Made of solid brass, this Coin has been deeply engraved with artwork of a storm on the front that has a resemblance of being drawn in ancient Greece. The back side of the Coin is embellished with beautiful scrollwork, creating a framing for the phrase "This Too Shall Pass."

  After engraving, the Coin was heavily brushed to smooth out the texture, given a special wash, blackened, and then hand rubbed to a distressed finish that brings out the depth of the artwork. Hoppe's #9 has been applied to help deepen the shadowed areas and add a slight protection.
