Hurts Donuts- Aqua Night Vision & Glow Sprinkles

It's been close to 2 years since I've done a run of HURTS DONUTS! Felt darn good to get back to making one of my favorite products...

  If you know anything about my work, ya know that my purpose is to create things that I not only think are cool, but have a legitimate use.   Hurts Donuts are 100% handmade from 1" solid brass rod. Each piece is cut off at around 5/8" thick, its lanyard hole drilled, and then these get hand carved to as close to a donut as I can get them. That means that they're not perfect, but neither are the damned donuts you get from the shop! 

  After shaping these up by hand, they get their engravings (3LC logo and the 2026 year marking), and then I hand stamped them with "HURTS DONUT" on the bottom (the last time I did that, was about 3 years ago). Each Donut is carefully sanded and smoothed, and then they get a beautiful stonewash. Once they get a cleaning, that's when they're ready for frosting.

  The frosting is a mixture of both Green and Blue Identifire pigments, with a bit of white. THE RESULT is a COOL AQUA GLOW! As always, 3Leaf Customs, LLC is proud to be the only company outside of Identifire Safety, LLC that is authorized to use their pigments in a product other than their own. Each of these Hurts Donuts have been topped with glow-in-the-dark sprinkle bits (a first for me on this product).

  Once cured, the frosting on the Donuts are individually carved, cleaning out the lanyard hole, and ensuring that there isn't too much overspill of Night Vision resin; that way this remains a piece that is able to be implemented into your EDC. Aaaaand then, these are hand painted with a clear coat of resin to really lock things in.

  How you carry your Hurts Donut is up to you. These have a good weight to them, meaning that they will definitely leave a mark if "used" while out for a walk or heading to your vehicle... but since they glow, you automatically have an item that makes it easier to identify whatever it is that you put it on when in a low light situation.
