Handmade No Luck Charm w/Patina & Regrind (w/bead)

  No Luck Charms were created to be a minimal carry and a backup to a backup, or a primary "means" in a given situation. The design of the NLC, though simple, allows the user to deploy it from a pocket in ANY orientation that it lay, employ it over ANY finger, and then reposition if needed. The rounded bottom, coupled with the "hips" and finger insets ensure that the user has not only a secure, but comfortable grasp.

  This No Luck Charm is handmade from 1/2" thick solid brass. This brass has an extremely high copper content. I don't use this brass often, but when I do, it is most certainly getting a patina. 

  The finger stall was cut at an industry standard 1" and then hand filed to a contouring that provides a comfortable seating. The outer edges and borders have hand ground and contoured to round over any areas that would normally create a hotpspot.

  The entire handmade bead and No Luck Charm were conditioned to create a satiny smooth surface, and then the faces were ground flat. 

  This NLC and bead were put through one of my patina processes, which bring out a wide array of blues, brown, and black. My "Crossed Fingers & Clover" artwork was deeply engraved on one face, while the other has my 3Leaf Customs branded Skull and the 2026 year marking (upside down horseshoe with clover). 

  Now, the handmade bead... this was put through the same process as the NLC, however while engraving it, the bead became very hot and the patina blackened. I have never engraved a patinated piece this deep before, so I guess ya live and learn. That being said, I rubbed and brushed both the NLC and bead to remove any excess surfacing that might flake prematurely. These pieces were "reground" around the edges to highlight and almost "frame" the beauty of the patina.

  Both pieces were given 3 clear coats of an environmentally friendly product, and then given an additional coat of another special product.
