Copper "Celtic Clover & Cross" Challenge Coin w/ Black & Green Patina

This is the last time you'll see this artwork... at least for this year! I came up with this design layout while talking with my younger brother one night, and since then I have totally fell in love. Each piece that I've made with this art has been completely different, from a brass coin, to titanium, and now copper!

  The Challenge Coin has the same reeded edges that you'd find on a coin with monetary value, but let's face it, this is way cooler! One face has a Celtic Clover and border, while the opposing side has a Celtic Cross and same border. You'll find that both faces have an extremely deep engraving to them; enough to provide a nice tangible feel.

  After giving this a rough brushing, I blackened the entire piece before putting a beautiful green patina. The patina shows off an array of deep olive greens moving into an almost turquoise blue.

  Instead of doing the usual and sanding off the faces completely, I gave this a distressed look, that way the olive greens would remain. Two clear coats of an environmentally friendly product made for finishes of this type was applied to help protect it a bit further.
