3LC "Marbs" Themed Lighter

  Firefighters have a way of taking some of the most iconic brands, switching it up a bit, and then bring some of the fun idea to everyone else. The "Marbs" idea had been on my mind for a couple of years now, but I was reminded of how bad I wanted to do it after seeing a banner/flag hanging in one of the fire stations not too long ago.

  As you know, the Zippo brand has a longstanding history of offering one of the best refillable lighters on the market. Their "Armor Case" version comes in at 1.5 x thicker than that of the standard offering.

  This lighter is an authentic Zippo brand lighter made of solid brass. It came stock as a tumbled finish before I heavily customized it. The layout was as close as I could get it to the "Cowboy Killers" packaging, while trying to keeping a good amount of beautiful untouched brass. These engravings are DEEP, so you don't have to worry about how heavily you carry this... The markings will remain over the years.

  Other than the obvious front and back faces, the hinge side has been laid out with a sort of "Surgeon General's Warning", but made in a way that it communicates the idea behind this BRANDED MINDSET. The non-hinge side has "3Leaf Customs", the year established, and a QR code that brings you to the website (yes, it actually works).

  After engraving, this was reconditioned to soften everything, given a special wash, blackened, and then hand rubbed to an antiqued finish. These have sat in the Florida humidity to age and set. Odie's Oil has been applied to help protect the finish.
